International Charity Bazaar Donations 22.02.12 42 300x188 €50,000 donated to Irish Charities

Today seven Irish charities happily received donations from the diplmatic corps’ annual International Charity Bazaar.

At the bazaar more than three thousand visitors “experienced the world in a day” – a day of colour and joy where fifty embassies celebrated diversity while united in raising funds for Irish charities.

President of the International Charity Bazaar, H.E. Diana Zagorianou,The Ambassador for Greece, said “these donations symbolise the belonging of the international community to the Irish community” and spoke of “the warm welcome we receive” in Ireland.

The Bazaar, ambassadors and diplomatic community were delighted to support projects run by Focus Ireland, The National Rehabilitation Hospital, Headstrong, The Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart in Limerick, Ruhama, the Irish Wheelchair Association and the Mansion House Fuel Fund.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Mr Andrew Montague said “I would like to thank the International Charity Bazaar for their generous donation to the Lord Mayor’s personal charity, the Mansion House Fuel Fund.  This charity traces its roots back to the 1870′s and distributes cash grants through a number of charitable societies.

The International Charity Bazaars do great work worldwide and here in Dublin and I am happy to support their activities” he said.
